"Glamorous" Cover Design Contest - Time to pick the finalists

... designers submit their covers for my book cover contest.

...designs (many iterations of working designs).


I am left with...

to chose up to 6 finalists.


It was like a race to work with the designers as the clock ticked down last night! 
Trying to give feedback as quickly as possible for those last tweaks to get to the amazing design.

Had a bit of trouble around which sites were good for images to use in the designs (see Fb post from April 25).

But the strong designs are ready and waiting for my choice of up to 6 finalist. Then I will work with them on the last touches to the designs for the final sprint to a winner.

I will be holding a poll with a select group of folks to have them help me choose a winner. Final decision will be mine, but the poll will give me feedback on what is working best.

Can't want for the next stage of working with the finalists!

Working with these designers has been a challenging but fun experience. 

Some are not reading the information I posted to the contest, so that is frustrating. I have to repeat things over and over again, like "I have to see both the front and back cover. This is going to be a paperback AND an e-book."  

Others are going back and forth working with me to get things just as I want!

I have lots of great options to choose from when the contest ends on Tuesday morning.

"Glamorous" Cover Design Contest Up and Running

My cover design contest for "Glamorous" is going well.

I have invited several designers to submit designs and they are starting to come in. It is amazing to see the changes and evolution of the covers as I work with the designers. Working with some of them in real time across the globe.

My published friend recommended the "less is more" approach to working with the designers. I have some general ideas about the cover being mysterious, in an ominous way. And some elements that might go well on the cover, particularly Grace and the villain.

I am trying not to tell them what to do specifically, but ask if they can try moving in a particular direction. And amazing stuff is the results.

I received 2 really solid designs after just a single day, so I upped the contest by guaranteeing there will be a designer selected from the contest. According to 99designs, this is supposed to bring in more and "better" designers.

What I have now is kick-ass, so can't wait to see what else they come up with on the cover!
